We went from an idea to existing to getting our first few subscribers.

  • City experiences: explorations, foodies day out, workshops, etc.

Current limitations: since we are at a small scale we are currently hosting events in the Andheri-Bandra region and the Versova-Ghatkopar metro line. We sometimes host events out of this range too but we will expand once we grow.

The story of building Uhtend so far

I wanted to provide a quick summary of Uhtend:

  • Launched in March 2025.

  • Got our first subscriber before launching on Producthunt.

  • Hosted plenty of free events to showcase our concept.

  • Switched to Dodo Payments from Razorpay.

  • Realised that people preferred one time payments over recurring subscriptions.

  • Relied mostly on organic content to grow our community.

  • Currently sitting at 51 subscribers.

Whenever I mention that we have two digit subscribers, people tend to hold back their laughter or amusement. I understand.

  • The most number of active subscribers a business like us had was 400 - ShowMango, which is now non-operational. Even then they focused on gigs itself. Memberships for events exist but it's mostly one dimensional - supper clubs, run clubs, etc - we aim to host all kinds of events.

  • It does not make sense to grow too quick here; I get offers from folks promising to get me to 100/200/500 subscribers but I want to maintain a balance with Uhtend - grow too quick and I will tarnish the experience for everyone - few slots and too many subscribers will be terrible.

  • Currently it's just me and my co-founder working on it - a team of two. We manage this while running our own businesses on the side. Aavin sells collectibles on Amusement Barn while I design Framer websites. We use minimalism to ensure our events are great experiences.

Uhtend is open to partnering with influencers and communities in Mumbai wrt growing our subscriber base. We offer 10% commission on each subscription.

Our goal with Uhtend is to be the go to platform for events - one subscription, all events.
